Chalcopyrite belongs to the sulfide group. It contains iron, copper, and sulfur. Its chemical formula is CuFeS2.
It usually occurs in massive form. The colors of CHALCOPYRITE display yellow, red, purple and blue.

Its name comes from two Greek words meaning copper and fire.
