Polished Thulite - South Africa - tumbled stones 4 cm / 19g / AY236

THULITE belongs to the silicate group. It contains calcium, aluminum, silicon, and manganese. Its chemical formula is Ca2Al3(SiO4)3(OH) with the presence of Mn. It is a pink variety of zoisite.

It has a massive shape or striated prismatic crystals and its color is pink to pinkish-red. The hardness of Thulite is greater than 6/10 and its average density is equal to 3.3 (1 for water). The line on the porcelain is white.
