There FLUORINE or FLUORITE belongs to the group of halides. It contains calcium and fluorine. Its chemical formula is CaF 2 .

FLUORINE crystals are often cubic but also octahedral and offer magnificent translucent specimens generally purple, green, yellow, blue and more rarely pink.

The name Fluorite comes from the Latin word fluere which means to flow , in the sense that Fluorite flows when it melts.
