ARSENOPYRITE or Mispickel belongs to the sulfide group and contains iron, arsenic, and sulfur. It is an iron arsenosulfide. Its chemical formula is FeAsS. It occurs in massive form or as prismatic crystals, often twinned. Arsenopiarite has a silvery, metallic luster. It is also known as arsenopyrite. Its hardness is greater than 5.5/10 on the Mohs scale (10 for diamond), and its density is 6.1 (1 for water). It streaks black on porcelain.
