Labradorite belongs to the plagioclase family, sodium and calcium feldspars.
It usually occurs in massive form. This mineral attracts attention due to its impressive light reflection due to the separation of feldspar during cooling. Labradorite has a density of 2.7 (1 for water) and a hardness of over 6/10 on the Mohs scale (10 for diamond). The line on porcelain is white.
The colors returned are particularly deep blues, golden yellow, orange, green, mauve, and white. The origin of the word Labradorite comes from the Labrador Peninsula in Canada.
