Knightia fossil fish - USA - Fossils 8.4 cm / 27g / BH630

Fossil fish have existed since the Devonian period (350 million years ago). It is not uncommon to find several specimens on the same plate. Knightia were prehistoric fish that lived in the Early Eocene period (50 million years ago). They were a few centimeters long and can be related to our herring. The Fossil Lake in the United States contains two species of Knightia, Eocaena and Alta.
