AMMONITES are cephalopod mollusks belonging to the Ammonoidea family. The shell, more or less coiled on itself, is made up of partitioned chambers used for flotation except for the last one occupied by the animal.
AMMONITES lived from the Lower Devonian (-416 Ma) to the Upper Cretaceous (-65 Ma), while GONIATITES appeared in the Lower Devonian (-416 Ma) and disappeared at the end of the Permian (-250 Ma).
Fossil AMMONITES and fossil GONIATITES can be used as decorative objects.
